Artist Statement

My name is Richard Newkirk. I am a surrealist artist. Within all of my pieces, I attempt to share a little piece of my mind with the viewer. I tend to create scenes to show my interpretation of dreams and thoughts; fantastical lands that I've imagined myself traveling through, or creatures conjured by the depths of my imagination. I am inspired by the likes of Salvador Dali and Heironymus Bosch. I want my art to be a message to people, which is that your thought is shaped by more than what you see, hear, and feel on the outside. Art is my passion, and I'd love to share it with you.
